Company description

Lundin Petroleum AB was formed in 2001 after the takeover of Lundin Oil AB by Canadian firm Talisman Energy. Since then, Lundin has expanded their portfolio to include assets in France, Holland, Venezuela, Tunisia and Indonesia. In 2007, average production for Lundin Petroleum was 34,000 barrels of oil equivalent, with a further 176.4 million barrels in reserves. The company first entered the Norwegian Continental Shelf in 2003, after the acquisition by the company of OER Oil, a Norwegian Exploration and Production company. They have been successful in APA licensing rounds since then, and their discovery at Luno in 2007 was one of their most successful to date.
