Company description

Global Spec (Pty) Ltd was formed in 1991 and is wholly owned by 2 partners since inception. The company is approved worldwide as service supplier in Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection Services. Apart from several years of experience in the industry where an enormous range of tests from simple welds on mild steel to high complex welds on high pressure stainless steel lines were conducted, the marine branch has been invited to perform some of the most complex assessments offshore. A proud record is the repairs and re-certification survey of more than 2 million metres of stud link mooring chain for the offshore oil exploration and diamond mining industries, a feat never accomplished before in Southern Africa. We also just recently designed & build our own stud press machine for loose studs not required to weld. The marine division has trebled its total output capacity since last year and is still growing. The success are due mainly to the owners direct input and extensive marine and industrial engineering experience which both founder members qualified as engineering artisans prior to establishing Global Spec. Global Spec (Pty) Ltd is respected to be able to offer independent professional results, with safety of the client’s personnel, by assuring that the quality of the equipment inspected conforms or surpasses the requirements of the specification for the equipment. As such Global Spec (Pty) Ltd has been invited to provide its services not only in South Africa, but also in Singapore, Vietnam, France, Namibia, Angola, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea and other African countries on West & East coasts of Africa. To support its services to the rest of Africa, Global Spec (Pty) Ltd has opened an office in Walvis Bay, Namibia and will serve as a liaison with rest (mainly West) Africa to offer a HIGHER QUALITY of engineering than is presently the situation. By doing this, the safety of the operating personnel will be increased. Our direct involvement with overseas clients and local ship repair yards has afforded us the opportunities to secure every visiting Oilrig/Barge project in Cape Town. The company employs permanent Inspection personnel resulting better control and only under extreme circumstances would as a sub-contractor be involved. This involvement becomes necessary when the need arises. Any sub-contractor utilised are approved by this company are subject to stringent pre-qualification tests and loyal fitness before he represent us prior to commencement of any enquiry irrespective of size of job.
