Sinopec Group has entered into a 15-year joint venture agreement with FTS International (FTSI), Ft. Worth, with the intention of tapping into China’s vast unconventional resources.
OAO Lukoil reported plans to sell its 50% stake in Caspian Investment Resources Ltd. (CIRL) to Sinopec for about $1.2 billion. Closing is expected before yearend.
Sinopec plans to develop Fuling shale gas field in southwestern China to a production capacity of 10 billion cu m (bcm)/year by 2017, the company said.
