Company descriptionThe Indonesia Clean Energy Development (ICED) project will work with the Indonesian government agencies (central, provincial, and local), the electric utility (PLN), non-governmental organizations, communities, universities, and the private sector to provide support for Indonesia’s clean energy objectives. The project will support the Director General for Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to improve energy sector policies and coordination; work with three provinces, local governments, and PLN in Sumatra to increase the development of clean energy projects; and increase institutional capacity and public outreach of government and other stakeholders for clean energy.
Products and servicesFour million tons of CO2 avoided from transport and energy sectors;
120 MW of clean energy installed;
At least 20 small- to medium-scale renewable energy projects implemented;
At least $120 million of public and private funding leveraged; and
1.2 million people with increased access to clean energy.
ICED has four major program areas that include:
Energy sector policy and coordination;
Development of clean energy;
Institutional capacity building and public outreach; and
Program support and integration.
A small grants fund is included as a flexible means of encouraging the participation and/or collaboration of local entities toward the achievement of the four activity components.
